The vineyards are located in the Rioja Alta area (located on the western edge of the Spanish region). Grapes come from century-old vines planted on clay-calcareous soils in the early 20th century with a low-yield production and a southeastern orientation to make the most of natural light. Grapes are hand-harvested in October when they are at their most ripe and are transported to the winery in 15 kg boxes for processing.
