In 1798, Pierre Salin set up a business as Wine Merchant in Bègles (the Bordeaux suburbs). When came the 19th century, Maison SALIN has become one of the leading Bordeaux wine merchant, exporting wine in “barrel”, in particular to the “French colonies”. In 1985 Frédéric SALIN (7th generation) takes over the company and starts developing and expanding the Grands Crus Classés and Estate bottled (“Petits Châteaux”) business. Frédéric Salin and his team have breathed new life into the company, by perpetuating both the expertise and the knowledge acquired over all this time. Still family managed by Frederic Salin, SALIN represents today’s modern and dynamic style of Bordeaux négociant activity. With exclusive Petite Chateau and 2nd wines combined with excellent En Primeur and Cru Classe selections Salin remains one of the leading wine merchants of Bordeaux. Now Salin has a 9000 m2 state-of-the-art, modern facility with a permanent stock of 5-million bottles of Grand Cru.
